“Song of the Falklands” was written in the 1930’s by Christopher Lanham, a schoolteacher from Hampshire in the United Kingdom working on West Falkland. “Song of the Falklands” has since become an unofficial anthem used at international sporting events. (The official anthem of the British colony is that of the United Kingdom.)
The Falkland Islands is also claimed by Argentina and, as a claimed province of Argentina, the Argentine government has granted it an anthem entitled “Marcha de las Malvinas” (Falkland Islands March).
